Engineering Physics

Engineering Physics (BASc) is one of the most competitive engineering programs at UBC, attracting extremely bright, creative and highly-motivated students. They are well suited in both R&D settings and traditional engineering positions. This unique five-year program provides students with comprehensive training in engineering along with a strong foundation in mathematics, physics, and applied technologies. The program also provides hands-on project experience to our students such as the Instrument Design course(Robotics Competition) and Project Labs to prepare them for solving challenging technical problems in the workplace. In addition, some students also participate in extra-curricular activities such as the Space Elevator team and Supermileage team and have won recognition for their outstanding accomplishments and achievements.

With their excellent academic training, UBC Engineering Physics students are equipped to work on the cutting edge of technology. Our students are well integrated into industries like aerospace, alternative energy research, robotics and automation, nanotechnology, applied physics, electronics, optics and photonics, biotechnology, and software development. By understanding the theory behind new ideas, students play a critical role in the process of taking those new ideas from concept to practical application.
